Grace's Funeral

Here you will find all the information concerning the funeral arrangements of Grace Wangu Kamau. As you maybe aware, Grace's body arrived safely in Kenya on the 7th December and the burial will be held on the 14th December 2023.

6th November 2023 - We discovered Grace's death and she was then taken to the Co-op Funeral Home at Peoples Memorial in Seattle which is a small NGO home and does not have the expertise to ship bodies internationally.

13th November 2023 - Grace's daughter, Francisca Mumbi travelled to Seattle to organize the transportation of Grace's body. By the grace of God, Kenyan friends and acquaintances in Seattle were able to assist and transfer Grace's body to a funeral home that has the capacity to transport the body internationally

16th November 2023 - Grace's body arrived in Edwards Memorial Funeral Home who have the experience in transporting dead bodies to Kenya. They immediately started working on the necessary documents to facilitate the transportation procedure. They applied for a death certificate which was then signed by Grace's doctor and then taken to King county for filing.

23rd November 2023 - The death certificate was sent to the Kenyan Consulate in Los Angeles along with the necessary documents so that they can issue 'a letter of no objection for the remains to be transported to Kenya.

27th November 2023 - The documents arrived in the Kenyan Consulate. There was a delay due to thanksgiving weekend public holiday. Now we are just waiting for the Kenyan consulate to send back the documents and then we will know the date of shipping Grace's body.

30th November 2023 - The documents from the Kenyan Consulate arrived safely in Edwards Funeral home.

4th December 2023 - Grace's body left Seattle to Kenya. It was scheduled to arrive in Kenya on the 7th December 2023 at 10:10p.m.

Nakuru, Kenya

10th November 2023 - Family and friends have been meeting at Grace's Nakuru residence in Langa Langa for vigils. The vigils take place everyday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. (Kenyan time) as permitted by the local county government.

7th December 2023 - Grace's body arrived in JKIA Kenya at 10:10p.m. It was picked by Umash funeral home and arrived in Nakuru on the 8th December 2023 at 05:00a.m.

7th - 13th December 2023 - Family and friends will continue with vigils at Grace's Nakuru's residence in Langalanga.

14th December 2023 - Burial at South Cemetery in Nakuru and thereafter, there will be food and refreshments in Langalanga primary school.
